Mora thinks Rosen will delay NFL plans, stay at UCLA in '18

Casey Sapio-USA TODAY Sports

The idea of Josh Rosen returning to UCLA in 2018 for his senior season instead of declaring early for the NFL draft seems like a long shot, unless you ask head coach Jim Mora.

"My firm belief is that he will not leave," Mora told Yahoo Sports' Pete Thamel on Sunday. "I don't think he'll leave."

Rosen is coming off an injury-plagued sophomore campaign, but is still widely considered a potential No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming NFL draft. As a freshman, and before he got hurt last season, he showed the footwork, arm strength, and pocket presence necessary to become an elite passer at the next level.

"I want a disclaimer," Mora added. "I have an option to change my opinion. But as we sit here right now, I can really honestly say I don't think he's going to leave."

The 6-foot-4 Rosen threw for 1,915 yards with 10 touchdowns and five interceptions in six contests last season before a shoulder ailment shut him down for the rest of the campaign. He threw for 3,670 yards with 23 touchdowns and 11 picks in 2015.
