Deshaun Watson predicts Clemson will make CFP without him

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Deshaun Watson believes Clemson will contend for another national title in 2017, despite the program losing its star quarterback - the self-proclaimed best player in college football.

"I have high expectations for them," Watson, now a member of the Houston Texans, told Will Vandervort of The Clemson Insider. "Of course, another run at an ACC championship, another run at the College Football Playoff, and then we will go from there."

With Watson leading the charge, Clemson reached the national championship game the last two seasons. He was a finalist for the Heisman Trophy both years, and capped his college career by slaying Alabama for 420 yards and three touchdowns - including one in the final seconds - to win the title.

The Tigers will likely turn to Kelly Bryant at quarterback as they attempt to repeat as champions.
