Alabama's Ridley wants chance to beat 'The Freeze'
Alabama star Calvin Ridley wants his chance to beat "The Freeze."
Nigel Talton - a former member of the Atlanta Braves' grounds crew - has become the center of the best promotion in baseball, where a random fan races him in a sprint around the warning track as he wears an outfit from a local convenience store and is known as "The Freeze."
The random fan gets a head start and Talton attempts to run them down in dramatic fashion.
Despite the fact Ridley has been clocked at a blazing 4.35 seconds in the 40-yard dash, he still wants the head start that's afforded to every contestant.
I'm getting the head start

While it doesn't seem like the race would be much of a contest if Ridley is afforded the head start, it could be tight if they start at the same time. Since Alabama doesn't have a game for over two months, it'd be great to see the Braves' stadium crew make this happen.
