Charlie Strong will get one more season with Darius Tice in his backfield.
The NCAA has granted the South Florida running back a medical waiver allowing him a final season of eligibility, the school confirmed Thursday, according to Joey Knight of the Tampa Bay Times. Tice suffered an ankle injury during South Florida's loss to Florida State on Sept. 24, and missed the rest of the season as a result.
Over his four years with the Bulls, Tice rushed for 874 yards and five touchdowns. He'll compete for the starting job as last year's leading rusher, Marlon Mack, departed the program after declaring for the NFL draft.
