Virginia Tech lands 4-star S Devon Hunter
Geoff Burke / USA TODAY Sports
Devon Hunter is staying close to home for his college career, as the four-star safety announced Friday that he's committed to Virginia Tech.
The Chesapeake, Va., native is ranked as the 10th-best safety in the class of 2017, and is listed as the 126th overall prospect on the ESPN 300.
Hunter was being pursued by a number of Power 5 programs before choosing Justine Fuente and Virginia Tech including Florida, Auburn, Alabama, Michigan, and Florida State.
The 6-foot-1, 206-pound speedster has been clocked at 4.42 in the 40-yard dash, and should thrive in Bud Foster's opportunistic defense in Blacksburg.
