After reportedly being dropped by Duke earlier Sunday evening, highly-touted four-star quarterback Jack Sears has committed to USC.
"I am now a USC Trojan and look forward to starting classes in January," the pocket passer told Tom Loy of 247 Sports.
Sears said he decommitted from the Blue Devils, but a source told Bruce Feldman of FOX Sports that Duke is the one that initiated the split.
Sears, ranked as the No. 8 pocket passer and the No. 139 overall recruit on the ESPN 300, had been considering other programs in recent times, Feldman added, even though he committed to Duke in August.
The San Clemente, Calif., native held offers from a lengthy list of schools, including Washington, Texas A&M, and UCLA.
