Stanford coach David Shaw announced Tuesday that Keller Chryst will start at quarterback for the Cardinal against Arizona this Saturday.

Chryst replaces Ryan Burns, who's thrown for 1058 yards, five touchdowns, and seven interceptions. The reason behind the move is clear, Stanford ranks 126th out of 128 FBS teams through seven games and have dropped three of its last four contests.

"You hate to get to this point, we need more production from the position," said Shaw, according to Jon Wilner of mercurynews.com.

Shaw also put to rest the idea of a possible two-quarterback system against the Wildcats.

Chryst, a junior, has seen limited play this year, completing just seven-of-18 for 64 yards and one pick.
