UCLA's Rosen dealing with nerve issue in shoulder
UCLA quarterback Josh Rosen has been watching his teammates the last two games with an undisclosed injury.
Rosen left the Arizona State game twice, once with a leg issue and later with a shoulder problem.
On Monday, coach Jim Mora announced that his starting quarterback has been dealing with a nerve issue in his shoulder.
"Once they announced that it's his shoulder and so what happens is that, the nerve has to start firing again and once it starts firing again, he should be fine. It's just a matter of when it's going to start firing again. He's getting all treatment he can get, doing everything he can do," Mora said at his Monday press conference. "It just hasn't got to the point where he can cut it loose yet."
With Rosen out, Mike Fafaul has been taking the snaps for the Bruins. Fafaul completed 40-of-70 for 464 yards and five touchdowns last week in a loss to Utah.
"The positive is Mike Fafaul. What a gritty performance," said Mora. He added, "He's a guy that he hasn't played a lot and the respect that he earned, he actually earned it."
UCLA has a bye week before travelling to Colorado on Nov. 3.
