In only his second career start at quarterback, Mike Fafaul is already in the UCLA history books.

Fafaul set the school single-game passing record for completions and attempts against Utah on Saturday at the Rose Bowl.

The 6-foot-2 signal-caller finished the day completing 40-of-70 for 494 yards, 5 touchdowns, and 4 interceptions.

The senior broke starter Josh Rosen's performance of 34 completions set versus Cal and 57 attempts against Washington State. Both occurred last season.

Despite Fafaul's best efforts, the Bruins fell 52-45 to the Utes.
