San Jose State will be without starting quarterback Kenny Potter on Saturday against Iowa State, the senior tweeting that he didn't make the trip.
Brian McMurphy of ESPN confirmed the absence is due to a leg injury, and that freshman Josh Love will make his first career start for the Spartans.
Potter is off to a hot start in 2016, throwing for 532 yards and five touchdowns for 2-1 San Jose State.
