Report: Georgia QB Jacob Eason to start vs. Nicholls State
Georgia has reportedly decided to start true freshman Jacob Eason at quarterback this week against Nicholls State, according to Marc Weizer of Athens Herald-Banner.
Eason will make his first collegiate start after serving as backup to Greyson Lambert in a win against North Carolina.
The 6-foot-6, 217-pound signal-caller saw action last week, after the Bulldogs trailed the Tar Heels 24-14, completing 8-of-12 for 131 yards and one touchdown.
Head coach Kirby Smart didn't reveal on Thursday who would start versus Nicholls State, but did discuss the two-quarterback situation the previous day.
"One guy was in the game when we were behind more than the other. They both have their strong points and those strong points are different. So we'll continue to develop both guys, give both guys reps and make a decision when we have to," said Smart.
Eason - a four-star prospect out of Lake Stevens, Wash. - was the top quarterback recruit in the nation.
