Kendal Briles honors father with initials on hands
Art Briles may not be walking the sidelines as Baylor's head coach this season, but his son Kendal did his best to salute his father during the Bears game Friday.
The elder Briles was fired following an investigation into mishandling of sexual-assault complaints by the university which involved members of the football team. New head coach Jim Grobe retained Kendal as the offensive coordinator, and the younger Briles honored his father by writing his initials on his hands for the opening contest versus Northwestern State.

The move certainly didn't bother Grobe, who didn't find out about the move until after the game.
"If you don't love your dad, then something's wrong," Grobe told Suzanne Haliburton of The Statesman. "I don't have any problem with that at all."
Reporters were unable to ask the younger Briles for comment, as Baylor doesn't allow assistant coaches to speak to the media. Whether he will repeat the gesture in Week 2 against SMU remains to be seen.
