The salary for Jim Grobe's stint as Baylor interim coach will be $1.25 million, an industry source told ESPN's Brett McMurphy on Monday.
Grobe's eight-month salary will rank as the third-lowest in the Big 12, ahead of Iowa State's Matt Campbell and Kansas' David Beaty.
The former Wake Forest frontman took over after the school fired Art Briles amid a sexual assault scandal that rocked the university. Briles signed a 10-year contract in November 2013, that had eight years and a reported $40 million remaining when terminated.
Baylor opens the 2016 season at home versus Northwestern State on Sept. 2.
