The 6-foot-4, 255-pound defensive end confirmed on his personal Twitter account that he will be attending Michigan State as a graduate transfer. Sherrod previously played three seasons with Delaware State before originally committing to Syracuse.
The arrangement fell through when the Syracuse chose to move on and no longer accept Sherrod's commitment.
"I was just in shock," Sherrod told Stephen Bailey of Syracuse.com. "I literally found out through Twitter.
Sherrod began his college career as a wide receiver before making the switch to defensive end for spring training camp in 2014. Sherrod started nine games that season and recorded seven and a half tackles for loss, good for second on the team.
