Hawaii dismisses Tulimasealii for violating code of conduct
Hawaii dismissed defensive lineman Kennedy Tulimasealii from the program Monday because he violated the athletic department's code of conduct.
Tulimasealii was arrested for the second time in a two-week span in April after he was involved in an incident with his ex-girlfriend and was charged on suspicion of abuse, harassment, resisting arrest, and contempt. He was suspended by the Rainbow Warriors at the time.
Earlier this month, Tulimasealii pleaded no contest to six charges that stemmed from four separate incidents involving his ex-girlfriend. He's scheduled for sentencing Aug. 24.
Hawaii's conduct code states that "any student-athlete convicted of or pleading guilty or no contest to a felony charge shall be permanently dismissed from the team."
Tulimasealii would've been entering his senior season in 2016. He appeared in all 13 games for the Rainbow Warriors last season with 12 starts, was fifth on the team with 63 tackles, and led both Hawaii and the Mountain West Conference with 18.5 tackles for loss.
