The SEC joined the ACC on Tuesday by becoming the second Power Five conference to approve the use of centralized replay for the 2016 season.

The decision to implement centralized replay was voted on unanimously by the conference's athletic directors and approved by the executive committee. It will allow for a main command center to communicate with on-field officials and help determine the correct call on replay reviews.

"Our goal is to continue to use the best-available resources to support correct outcomes when instant replay is used," said SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey. "We believe the collaborative effort, which will involve additional officiating experts during replay reviews, will enhance the Conference's football officiating program. I believe this update to the instant replay review process will better support football officiating in the SEC through the use of technology."

Last week the ACC became the first of the Power Five conferences to approve a command center that would aid on-field officials in making sure calls are correct. The move to centralized replay was made possible by the approval of a request submitted to the NCAA Rules Committee in February by the SEC that would allow conferences to use a system similar to that of the NFL on an experimental basis.
