Hurricanes OF admires HR with stare-down, bat toss
FOX Sports South / Twitter
This was, as some might say, Bautista-esque.
Miami found itself down 7-5 to NC State after eight wild innings in their ACC Tournament matchup Thursday night.
That's when Edgar Michelangeli took over.
The junior outfielder lifted the Hurricanes back in front of the Wolfpack with a dramatic three-run homer in the top of the ninth, and admired his handiwork with a bat flip - or, really, bat toss - for the ages.
Like Bautista's dramatic homer and bat-flip in last year's ALDS, Michelangeli's heroics held up as the winning runs for the Hurricanes in their 8-7 win.
By virtue of its victory, No. 1-ranked Miami will face No. 4 Florida State on Saturday for a spot in Sunday's ACC Championship Game.
