Villanova and Oklahoma will square off in what will surely be a memorable game next season.

The Wildcats and Sooners will headline a Dec. 7 doubleheader to be played at Pearl Harbor in honor of the 1941 Japanese bombing, the school announced Wednesday.

"It's a thrill for our basketball program to be part of a great game against an outstanding team like Oklahoma on national television," Villanova head coach Jay Wright said. "It's an even greater honor for all of us to be a part of an event that will pay tribute to our veterans, active service personnel, and those who lost their lives on Dec. 7, 1941."

The event will mark the 74th anniversary of the bombing, which took the lives of almost 2,400 people and triggered the American entrance into World War II.

The game will be played on the Pearl Harbor base at Bloch Arena, which withstood the attack.
