Duke officially announces arrival of Rice transfer Sean Obi

Rice Owls transfer Sean Obi has officially joined the Duke Blue Devils, the team announced on Friday. Obi had made his intention to transfer to Duke clear via his Instagram account on April 21. 

A native of Nigeria, Obi has supposedly been playing organized basketball for just four years. The 6-foot-9 forward was impressive in his freshman campaign with the Owls, putting up 11.4 points and a Conference USA-leading 9.3 rebounds despite toiling on a last-place club that won just seven games all year. 

Obi will be forced to red-shirt for the 2014-15 season, after which he will have three years of eligibility.
