Brad Calipari, the son of Kentucky head coach John Calipari, is joining the Wildcats' staff as a graduate assistant coach for the upcoming season, the school announced Thursday.
Brad will help develop practice plans and provide advanced scouting of opponents.
The 24-year-old spent the first two seasons of his collegiate career in Lexington, then transferred to Detroit Mercy for his final two years.
Brad played sparingly at both schools, averaging three points in 10.7 minutes over 60 combined appearances.
I do not take this opportunity lightly and appreciate the chance to begin my coaching career at the mecca of college basketball. I’m eager to learn from our tremendous staff led by an OK coach. LOL. Not a Hall of Famer or anything😂💙🏀 (5/5)
