Pac-12 sets worst December by major conference in 20 years

The Pac-12 - nicknamed the "Conference of Champions" for owning more national titles than any other conference - is no longer setting the bar.

With five losses on Saturday, the Pac-12 will be the first of the Power 5 conferences plus the Big East to finish December with a win percentage sub .600 in the past two decades, according to ESPN.

It will be the Pac-12's worst record in a month since 2009 when it posted a record of 38-24 (.613) as the Pac-10 Conference.

The Pac-12 holds a record of 38-36 for the month, with only USC left in action on Sunday.

No.17 Arizona State could fall out of the AP's Top 25 after being upset at home on Saturday by Princeton. This would leave the conference without a ranked team.

UCLA is mired in a four-game slump, losing by an average of 15 points. The Bruins haven't dropped this many consecutive non-conference games since the 2010-11 season.

It's three representatives - Arizona, UCLA, and Arizona State - went winless in the NCAA tournament last March, including the Wildcats' embarrassing 21-point defeat to Buffalo in the first round.
