Arizona sophomore forward Ira Lee apologized for his recent DUI arrest Thursday, posting on Twitter that his grandmother committed suicide a day earlier.

"Before all of these events I was already emotionally unstable and dealing with different personal issues," Lee wrote. "I knew how unstable I was and instead of seeking for help I turned to drinking which lead (sic) to a terrible mistake."

Lee was cited by police in Tuscon last Saturday for "super extreme DUI", an Arizona statute in which blood alcohol content is recorded at 0.20 or higher. While a misdemeanor, a conviction could result in a jail sentence.

The 6-foot-7 Lee averaged just 10 minutes per game as a freshman last season, but he's one of only four returning frontcourt players for the Wildcats in 2018-19.
