Calipari not going anywhere while son enrolled at Kentucky
Kentucky coach John Calipari is mentioned for an NBA position every time a coaching job turns up.
The coach put all rumors to rest - for at least the next four or five years - when he told Myron Mecalf of ESPN he's not going to leave while his son is enrolled at Kentucky.
"My son's now here so my son's walking on, I'm not gonna leave. I would say four to five years is a lock and then after that. I may be hanging it up. At that point I'd be 60, 61. I never thought I would coach past the age of 60 because basketball isn't my life," said Calipari.
The 57-year-old coach has stated that his current job is the best in all of basketball, and with good reason. He signed a seven-year, $52.5-million contract extension in June 2014.
"There are coaches who come through here from the NBA. They say he'd be crazy to come into this league. He's got everything he needs right there."
