Pitino: I can't offer Andre Mcgee forgiveness until he asks for it
Louisville was hit hard with self-imposed sanctions last season after the program was in the midst of a sex scandal.
Andre McGee, the former director of basketball operations at the time, was said to have paid for stripper and sex parties for players and recruits between 2010 and 2014.
The scandal led the school to announce a postseason ban, as well as reduced scholarships and recruiting visits. On Tuesday, coach Pick Pitino, who denied he knew anything about the parties that occurred on-campus, discussed his current relationship with McGee, who is also a former player of his.
"You know everyone asks 'can you forgive Andre McGee?'" Pitino said on Newsradio 840 WHAS. "Well, he's one of my players. Do I still love him today? Yes, I do. Can I forgive him? No, I don't because in order to forgive someone, that person has to ask for forgiveness."
