SMU's Jankovich ready to turn page after Brown's departure
In one of his first acts as SMU's official head coach, Tim Jankovich did what any reasonable person would do - create a Twitter account and tweet his excitement about the opportunity in front of him:

It has been an honor and privilege to work with Coach Brown. I will miss him. At the same time I am very excited about the future!

Jankovich was named Larry Brown's replacement Monday, after the latter resigned his position Friday. Jankovich served as an assistant under Brown for four seasons, and was tabbed the coach-in-waiting long before he quit.
SMU will mark the third head coaching job of Jankovich's career, following stints at North Texas in the 1990s and Illinois State in the late-2000s. For his career, the 57-year-old has amassed a 157-121 record.
SMU posted a 25-5 record under Brown last season, but was ineligible for postseason play due to NCAA sanctions.
