The San Antonio Spurs will be down two starters when they host the Utah Jazz on Wednesday night, as power forward LaMarcus Aldridge will join point guard Tony Parker in street clothes.

While Parker is nursing a hip ailment that will force him to sit out his second straight game, Aldridge is being held out purely for rest, according to the team's injury report.

As head coach Gregg Popovich might say: Welcome to the Spurs.

It's the first time Aldridge will sit this season to rest. He missed two games earlier in the year with an ankle sprain.

The 30-year-old has had his workload scaled back considerably in his first season in San Antonio. He's averaging his fewest points and field-goal attempts since his rookie season in 2006-07, and playing over five fewer minutes per game than he has in any other season thereafter.
