Carlos Boozer is currently unsigned, but he's ready to return to the hardwood.

Boozer hasn't played since last season when he suited up for the Los Angeles Lakers. In a post for The Players' Tribune that reads almost like a cover letter, Boozer wrote that while he's enjoyed the past few months off, "it's going to be time to get back to work" soon.

"While I’m not ready to divulge anything yet ... you should be hearing from me again, with some news, in a handful of weeks. Until then: my plan is to just enjoy this family time, keep doing my research, and make sure I'm ready to go," Boozer penned.

The former All-Star - who turns 34 a week from Friday - is almost a decade removed from his most effective playing days for the Utah Jazz, but can help a team in a veteran leadership role.

"I've decided that I'm going to keep at this NBA thing for a few more years," Boozer wrote. "That's my plan, anyway: Play another three or four seasons, and then move onto the next phase of my life."

Boozer has a career defensive rebounding percentage of 26.6 and averaged 16.2 points over 13 seasons with four teams.
