Muggsy Bogues says a 'Space Jam' sequel 'just wouldn't have the same flavor'
Muggsy Bogues knows that the sequel is never better than the original.
With rumors of a potential "Space Jam 2" resurfacing every few months, the retired pro baller and original cast member thinks the 1996 Warner Bros. flick should remain untouched.
"I can't see them making another one, it wouldn't have the same appeal," Bogues told For The Win's Nina Mandell.
"It just wouldn't have that same flavor, it just doesn't have that same flavor to it. And I know Michael wouldn't do the sequel, so I don't know how they would do it. Sometimes I think it's just best to leave it alone."
LeBron James has said as recently as August that he is hopeful there will be a "Space Jam" sequel, with Boston Celtics point guard Isaiah Thomas offering his services as the "new Muggsy Bogues."
Casting shouldn't be an issue for the role of the 5-foot-3 former guard.
"I don't know who could play me," said Bogues. "Maybe Isaiah Thomas. Or Nate Robinson. Maybe they can play me."
