Holmes, who was selected by the Sixers with the 37th overall pick in the June draft, suffered a fractured elbow during summer league play, but has apparently made a swift recovery. He'll receive every chance in training camp to earn a spot on the team's Opening Night roster, but there's still a high probability that Holmes spends ample time in the D-League this season.
