Luis Scola drops 35 on Canada, told kids not to cheer for Argentina 'too loudly'
If there was a major difference in Tuesday's round-robin game between Argentina and Canada at the FIBA Americas in Mexico, it was Luis Scola.
The 35-year-old, eight-season NBA veteran poured in 35 points and pulled down 13 rebounds in Argentina's 94-87 win, his second double-double in as many days at the Olympic qualifier tournament. Scola scored 18 points in the third quarter alone, with a somewhat inexperienced Canadian squad unable - or unwilling - to guard him.
The forward also happened to sign with the Toronto Raptors in July, and he told reporters afterward that his children were in their new Canadian residence watching the game. He apparently instructed them, however, not to advertise their cheering too much in the hometown of opponent Andrew Wiggins.
