The San Antonio Spurs have officially signed 34-year-old veteran power forward David West, the team announced Friday.

West reportedly signed a one-year deal worth the veteran's minimum of $1.4 million, according to Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski.
It's a drastic pay cut for the 12th-year pro, who turned down his $12.6 million player option for next season with the Indiana Pacers to sign with a championship contender, which he didn't believe his former team was capable of being.

West spent the last four seasons starting for the Pacers, averaging 14 points, 7 rebounds, and 2.8 assists in 285 appearances. His final year with the franchise saw his lowest scoring output since 2004-05, putting up just 11.7 points on 47.1 percent shooting.
While he can impose his will as a physical presence under the basket, West prefers the subtlety of a mid-range game where he hit 46.6 percent of his 401 attempts last season, including 50.2 percent from 16-to-24 feet.
With San Antonio, West will move to a reserve role behind franchise big Tim Duncan and newly signed four-time All-Star LaMarcus Aldridge, completing arguably the NBA's most dominant three-man frontcourt rotation. West has started 723 of his 815 games since being drafted 18th overall by the New Orleans Hornets (now the Pelicans) in the 2003 NBA Draft.
