Nets' Garnett to rest Thursday vs. Clippers
The Brooklyn Nets will give power forward Kevin Garnett a rest Thursday night when they take on the Los Angeles Clippers.
The 38-year-old has managed to stay relatively healthy this season, no doubt thanks to the limited minutes and multiple days off the Nets' coaching and training staff have mandated.
Garnett is averaging 21.3 minutes through 34 games, and he's sat seven times due to rest. He also missed a game due to suspension. The Nets are 3-5 without him.
Garnett has actually seen an uptick in production, with his averages of 7.0 points, 7.2 rebounds and 1.8 assists, plus his PER of 14.8, all slightly better than his numbers from last year.
The Nets have lost eight of their past 10 games and sit just a half-game up on the Charlotte Hornets for a final Eastern Conference playoff spot.
