Kobe Bryant initially said he wanted to play in all eight of the Los Angeles Lakers' preseason games, but it appears he'll fall just short of that goal.

The Lakers will sit Bryant for their final two preseason games, according to Mark Medina of the L.A. Daily News. Bryant is reportedly healthy and is expected to be ready for opening night, but is being rested as a precaution ahead of his 19th NBA season.

Bryant will finish the preseason with averages of 19 points and four assists in 26.7 minutes per game.
