The Toronto Raptors are celebrating their 20th anniversary season this year, and as part of the festivities they'll be wearing comemorative patches on their jerseys, they'll rock their original purple dinosaur jerseys here and there, and they'll even honor some former Raptor greats.

While names like Vince Carter, Chris Bosh, Tracy McGrady, and Damon Stoudamire come to mind, no players have been confirmed as honorees yet.

Until now.

Not many people outside of Toronto would think of Jalen Rose when asked to name some of the best Raptors in the franchise's brief history, but the former NBA guard ranks in the franchise's top 10 for minutes per game, points per game, assists per game, and total free throws made.

Rose averaged 16.2 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 177 games in parts of three seasons with the Raptors. It isn't much, but again, for a relatively new franchise with little success over the years, it's apparently good enough.

The Raptors' first home game after Thanksgiving is Nov. 28 against the Mavericks, which also happens to be listed as one of eight 20th anniversary nights on season ticket packages, so it all adds up.

The only question now is whether Rose will bring his trademark baseball bat.
