Analysis:
Faried's extension comes before the Oct. 31 deadline for eligible members of the 2011 Draft class to sign long-term deals. The 22nd overall pick out of Morehead State, Faried's scoring average has improved every season, topped by 13.7 points last term. Additionally, Faried has emerged into one of the league's most aggressive on the boards, averaging 8.6 rebounds both last season and over his three-year career thus far. The 24-year-old was an instrumental part of the United States' recent gold medal finish at the FIBA World Cup and will now start at power forward for the Nuggets for years to come.
