Retailer never made replica Wiggins jerseys
If you purchased a replica Andrew Wiggins Cleveland Cavaliers jersey, there's a good chance it was never actually made.
A spokesman for Fanatics, the online licensed sports retailer that services NBA.com, told ESPN's Darren Rovell that the company did not make the replica No. 21 jerseys that people were purchasing.
Fanatics had until August 23 - one month after Wiggins signed his contract - to deliver the ordered replicas, but decided not to print them as trade rumors involving the Cavs, Wiggins, the Timberwolves and Kevin Love grew stronger.
Custom-made Wiggins jerseys ordered after the jerseys were discontinued last week, as well as authentic Wiggins jerseys that have already been ordered, have been made and shipped, according to Fanatics spokesman Meier Raivich. But the replicas were not.
If the trade to Minnesota goes through as expected (it can't be finalized until August 23), Cavs fans will be able to return Wiggins jerseys they've already received.
They also retain the option of burning them, of course.
