Ray Allen's future reportedly hinges largely on the results of an MRI on his legs.
If he's able to return for a 19th NBA season, there are a number of championship contenders interested in 39-year-old, who is apparently keen to join LeBron James in Cleveland. But in the event that Allen decides - or is forced - to hang up the kicks, he'll retire a happy man.
"My family is very important in making the decision," Allen told the Hartford Courant in an interview. "Right now, there is nothing that I need to do. If I ultimately decide this will be it for me, I'm content with that."
Although teams like the Cavs would probably prefer to get a verdict from Allen sooner rather than later, the veteran shooting guard is in no hurry to make a final decision.
"I'm not in any rush," Allen continued. "I've played 18 years, and the way I look at my career, I'm content with everything that I've done. I just want to take this summer and see how it goes."
Of course, Allen should be nothing but content with how his career has played out. Through 18 seasons, he's won two NBA titles, made 10 All-Star Game appearances, and is the league's all-time leader in three-pointers made with 2,973.
