Isaiah Thomas: 'I always will love Sacramento, but when we play them I'm going to kill Sacramento'
Isaiah Thomas has been doing a lot of talking since joining the Phoenix Suns in a mid-July sign-and-trade with the Sacramento Kings.
He's already spoken of how he "felt very disrespected" by his former team, and during an interview where he discussed the impact that the Kings' signing of Darren Collison had on his future, Thomas also stated his plans to "kill Sacramento" in spite of his love for the franchise. His comments came when asked his favorite memory with the Kings.
"I don't think it's just a specific game, just the whole experience," Thomas told SB Nation. "It was different from I think anybody else's because three different coaches in three years, front office changing, the arena situation, us maybe moving to Seattle, all of that plays a part in the whole experience and I wouldn't change it for anything. I tell everybody I love Sacramento, I always will love Sacramento, but when we play them I'm going to kill Sacramento."
The point guard's trade to the Suns was reportedly accelerated by a disagreement over how much he was worth. The Kings refused to match Thomas' asking price, with the difference apparently being between $2 million to $4 million.
