If Carmelo Anthony goes to the Heat, consider J.R. Smith an ex-friend

Joe Camporeale / USA Today Sports

While it remains very unlikely that Carmelo Anthony lands with the Miami Heat as a free agent this offseason - his focus has reportedly turned to Houston and Chicago - it remains a buzzworthy topic among fans.

It's on the mind of basketball fans (even those from Detroit, apparently) enough that one reached out to get J.R. Smith's take on it. So, would Anthony's teammate on the Knicks forgive him if he went to Miami to join the Big Three? Not a chance, it seems.

Someone probably should have asked a follow up about more likely destinations. It seems like it would be hard for anyone to blame Anthony for leaving in general, but we understand the vitriol toward a move to the Heat.
