Russell Westbrook responds to brother's tweet, suggests media tries to pull Thunder apart

Thunder guard Russell Westbrook didn't care much for a tweet sent out by brother Ray on Thursday night while the Thunder were in the midst of losing Game 3 of their opening round series to the Grizzlies.

Ray tweeted out that the Thunder need a new coach, but by Friday morning had deleted the tweet and posted an apology. Russell issued a response of his own on Friday.

“I took care of that, man,” Russell said, via the Oklahoman. “We don’t conduct business like that.”

Russell added that his brother's opinion does not reflect his own opinion on the matter.

“Me and Scotty have a great relationship,” Russell said. “I’ve never once mentioned that I want Scotty to leave ever since I’ve been here. We created a bond with each other that’s grown.”

In addition to his brother's tweet, Westbrook suggested that the media blows up issues with the Thunder to try and create drama.

"I feel like [the media] tries to pull us apart," Westbrook said, via ESPN. "When nobody is getting their shots, you all try to find a reason in between all of us. You try to find whose fault it is. One person didn't lose, we all lost."

Specifically, he was referring to the shot distribution late in Thursday's game, where he and Kevin Durant took most of the team's shots down the stretch. That includes one somewhat ill-advised Westbrook 3-point attempt when Serge Ibaka was alone under the basket.

"Don't try to pull us apart," he later added. "We're all in this together, Serge isn't on a separate team, Kevin is not on a separate team, I'm not on a separate team."
