1962 - Wilt Chamberlain sets NBA record for most points in a season

Wilt Chamberlain finished the 1961-62 season with an astonishing 4,029 points in 80 games for the Philadelphia Warriors, in just his third season as a professional at the age of 25.

The feat also represented another record when he became the first and only player to finish a season averaging 50 or more points per game, as Chamberlain finished with 50.4 points.

The record still stands over 50 years later and will likely never be broken since Chamberlain also put up the second most points as well, scoring 3,586 one year later.

1992 - Lenny Wilkens records 800th victory

Hall of famer Lenny Wilkens won his 800th game as a head coach after his Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Denver Nuggets 100-91.

At the time, Wilkens became only the fifth coach in NBA history to reach this mark, joining Red Auerbach, Jack Ramsay, Dick Motta and Bill Fitch.

Wilkens set the NBA record in the 1994-95 season when he recorded his 935th victory to pass Auerbach and eventually became the first coach to win 1,000 games. He finished his career in 2005 with 1,332 wins, a record that stood until 2010, when Don Nelson passed him and finished his career with 1,335 victories.
