VIDEO: President Obama invites Omri Casspi to play at the White House
NBA players are asked questions about their team almost every day over the course of the regular season. Houston Rockets' Omri Casspi didn't have any trouble fielding questions from someone outside of an arena's media scrum.
The first Israeli-born NBA player was invited to the White House Thursday night for a Hanukkah reception hosted by President Obama and First Lady Michelle.
It's no secret that Mr. President knows a few things about the game and stopped to chat with Casspi. The Rockets forward captured the brief interaction in an Instagram video.
According to the Houston Chronicle, Casspi received the official invitation to the event, including a menorah lighting ceremony, late on Nov. 26.
“I’m so excited,” Casspi told the Chronicle last week. “A dream come true to be invited to the White House. I always thought it would be as part of a championship-winning team, but this is great.
