Giddey scores 21 off bench in return to help Bulls beat T-Wolves

Chicago Bulls guard Josh Giddey tallied 21 points off the bench in Thursday's 120-115 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Giddey was on a minutes limit in his first appearance since Dec. 29. He shot 7-of-13 from the field to go along with six boards, five assists, and two steals in 26 minutes of action.

Tre Jones' layup with 31.1 seconds remaining capped a 14-point comeback and sealed the Bulls' third straight win.

Giddey had missed the last 11 games with a strained left hamstring. The Bulls went 6-5 during that span.

Chicago signed Giddey to a four-year, $100-million contract extension during the offseason. The 23-year-old was off to a strong start prior to being sidelined, averaging 19.2 points, 9.0 assists, and 8.9 rebounds across 30 appearances.

Giddey's seven triple-doubles this season are tied for the second most in the Association, trailing only Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic.

The Bulls sit ninth in the Eastern Conference with a 22-22 record following Thursday's win.
