Los Angeles Lakers star Luka Doncic is day-to-day with a calf contusion, head coach JJ Redick told reporters Monday, including ESPN's Dave McMenamin.

Doncic suffered the injury Saturday against the Los Angeles Clippers in a collision with Bogdan Bogdanovic. He was promptly ruled out for the second half and replaced in the starting lineup by Dalton Knecht.

The five-time All-Star will miss Tuesday's matchup against the Phoenix Suns.

Doncic was sporting a heavy wrap on his left leg after Monday's practice, according to McMenamin.

Redick added that the team is looking into ways to protect Doncic's legs as these collisions have been a recurring issue.

Doncic's averaging a league-leading 34.1 points, 8.8 assists, 8.6 boards, and 1.6 steals across 21 appearances. He's also No. 1 in the Association with 12.1 free-throw attempts per contest.

Los Angeles is also missing starters Deandre Ayton, Austin Reaves, and Rui Hachimura.

The Lakers sit fourth in the West with a 19-8 record entering Monday's play.
