Dallas Mavericks minority owner Mark Cuban says the team isn't trying to trade Anthony Davis this season.

"We won't. We want to try to win," Cuban told The Athletic's Joe Vardon in an email Wednesday.

While Cuban is adamant that Davis is staying put, the Mavs will listen to trade calls for the big man, sources told ESPN's Shams Charania.

Cuban also told Vardon that he recently returned to Dallas as "an adviser" to team governor Patrick Dumont following the firing of general manager Nico Harrison.

Cuban said Dumont "makes all the final decisions" regarding basketball operations.

"I'm here to help him where I can," Cuban said.

Matt Riccardi and Michael Finley are serving as Mavs co-general managers on an interim basis.

Davis was the centerpiece of the controversial Luka Doncic trade that Harrison conducted in February.

The 10-time All-Star has struggled to stay healthy during his brief time in Dallas, making 14 appearances since being acquired from the Los Angeles Lakers.

Davis sustained a left calf strain Oct. 29 and missed the Mavs' next 10 contests. He's expected to be out for at least three more games according to the team's latest timeline.

Davis reportedly needs the green light from Dumont before he can return.
