LeBron writing Halloween-themed children's book

LeBron James is picking up the pen again.

The Los Angeles Lakers star announced Thursday that he is publishing a new children's book titled "Happy Spooky Halloween," set for release in July 2026.

It's the fourth children's picture book James has authored since 2020. The four-time NBA champion wrote "I Promise" and its sequel "I Am More Than" and co-authored "We Are Family" with Andrea Williams.

James, who calls Halloween his favorite holiday, is known for donning elaborate costumes even with the NBA season in full swing. Though he kept it simple on the road last year with a Ghostface mask from the "Scream" movies, the NBA's all-time leading scorer has dressed up as Pennywise the Dancing Clown, Beetlejuice, and Freddy Krueger, among several other popular fictional characters.

However, this year marks the first time in James' 23 NBA seasons that he will be out due to injury during Halloween. The 40-year-old has yet to play this season while recovering from sciatica, though he and the Lakers are reportedly hopeful of a return sometime in mid-November.
