Pistons' Ivey to miss at least 4 weeks after knee surgery
Detroit Pistons guard Jaden Ivey will miss at least four weeks after undergoing an arthroscopic procedure to relieve right knee discomfort, the team announced Thursday.
The surgery is unrelated to the broken fibula he suffered in January against the Orlando Magic.
Ivey was having his best season prior to being sidelined, averaging career highs in points (17.6), rebounds (4.1), and 3-point percentage (40.9%).
The Purdue product made his first appearance since the fibula injury Oct. 6 versus the Memphis Grizzlies, tallying seven points, one rebound, and one assists in 14 minutes of action. He then sat out the Pistons' next two preseason games.
Ivey's entering the final year of his rookie deal. The 23-year-old is set to become a restricted free agent next summer if Detroit doesn't sign him to a rookie-scale contract extension.
The Pistons selected Ivey with the fifth overall pick in 2022.
