Embiid fined $75K for making obscene gestures vs. Celtics
The NBA announced Friday it fined Joel Embiid $75,000 for "making obscene gestures on the playing court" during the first half of the Philadelphia 76ers' 118-114 Christmas Day win over the Boston Celtics.
Embiid appeared to be penalized for his reaction after drilling a triple just before halftime.

Embiid tallied 27 points, nine boards, and two assists in 31 minutes to help the 76ers pull off the upset. It was only Embiid's ninth appearance of the campaign as he continues to battle various injuries.
Embiid has put up respectable numbers when available, averaging 21.3 points, seven boards, 3.9 assists, and 0.9 blocks.
The 76ers have won seven of their last 10 games to move up to 12th in the East.
