The Orlando Magic signed center Wendell Carter Jr. to a three-year, $59-million contract extension, his agent told ESPN's Shams Charania.
Carter has two years remaining on his current contract. His extension will keep him with the Magic through the 2028-29 campaign.
Carter was acquired by Orlando from the Chicago Bulls in March 2021. The Duke product averaged 11 points and 6.9 boards across 58 appearances last season.
Chicago selected Carter with the No. 7 overall pick in 2018.
It's been a busy offseason for the Magic, as they also extended Franz Wagner and Jonathan Isaac. Key reserves Goga Bitadze, Gary Harris, and Moritz Wagner were re-signed as well.
Their lone major free-agent acquisition was the signing of 3-and-D specialist Kentavious Caldwell-Pope.
Orlando went 47-35 last season and lost in seven games to the Cleveland Cavaliers in the opening round of the playoffs.
