Memphis Grizzlies big man Steven Adams will miss the full 2023-24 campaign after he undergoes knee surgery, the team announced Sunday.

Adams originally injured his right PCL in January and missed the final 40 games of the regular season and the playoffs. Non-surgical rehabilitation failed to stabilize his knee.

The New Zealander has spent the last two years in Memphis, averaging 10.6 rebounds per game to go along with 7.5 points, three assists, and nearly a block and a steal per contest.

The 30-year-old was selected with the No. 12 pick back in 2013 by the Oklahoma City Thunder. He had a stint with the New Orleans Pelicans before joining Memphis.

Without Adams, the Grizzlies will likely play reigning Defensive Player of the Year Jaren Jackson Jr. exclusively at the 5 and give Xavier Tillman and Santi Aldama more run. Memphis is already missing star Ja Morant for the season's first 25 games due to suspension.
